Mandi Jacobson

Mandi is a highly regarded litigator having worked on complex cases in the Federal Court of Australia (including in class actions), in Coronial Inquests and the Healthcare Complaints Commission, as well as matters involving clinical research organisations and the Australian Border Force.

Mandi is a life sciences and consumer law specialist, providing regulatory and compliance advice and advising clients on contentious regulatory matters and complex litigations, often involving white collar crime and contractual disputes.

She has been recognised by international legal directory Chambers and Partners for Life Sciences since 2018.

Mandi advises local and international pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and medicinal cannabis companies on a wide range of matters, including how to supply medicines in each state and territory, registration of medicines and medical devices on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods, suspensions and cancellations, section 60 reviews under the Therapeutic Goods Act, investigations and audits, product defects, pricing and reimbursement, clinical trials, classification of therapeutic goods, and pathways to registration.

Mandi advises companies that manufacture and supply consumer goods throughout Australia, including in relation to product defects and product liability, compliance with Australian and international standards, import and export requirements, advertising and promotion, product recalls and withdrawals, and misleading and deceptive conduct, across a range of industries including food and beverage, cosmetic, electronics, and automobile.  Mandi represents companies that are being investigated and prosecuted by the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission and state bodies and agencies.

Mandi also advises companies on their obligations under Australia's privacy regime (including preparing privacy policies and undertaking 'gap analyses'), as well as how to navigate and manage real and suspected data breaches including reporting to Commonwealth and state regulators.
